Kanka - Rasta Children (Ft. Danman)

Kanka is an artist launched by Hammerbass team, who was a very big success in 2005 with his album “Do not Stop Dub”. Multi-instrumentalist from the reggae scene, Kanka composed since 1997. His universe is characterized mainly by energetic songs, influenced by English and Jamaican dub. His music is close to “stepper” style (warrior style!) and his compositions are highly focused on a great bass-drums duo with reggae rhythms. Kanka offer a modern style, with high tempos.

To enrich his music and his percussive style, Kanka sets of support of mc’s or brass. This is the case on his second album released in 2005 on Hammerbass records: “Do not Stop Dub!”. For this hit, there was the participation of Mc Brother Culture which provides a more universal dimension to the Kanka Dub, more based in rhythmic than experimentation.

His project is also available on stages where instruments are mixed with machines for pleasure of dub addict. He appealed in the singer / percussionist Mc Olivia (also mentioned in the album) who is also convener of the Sound System Blackboard Jungle and has a bassist, Chris B.

Since 2004, they shared the poster with Twilight Circus, Lee ‘Stcratch’ Perry, Tiken Jah Fakoly, and many others. In 2009 released “Sub Mersion” a new album that opened the doors of the most beautiful scenes in Europe.

But it is in 2011 that the conqueror of the dub signs his big return with the release in October 2011 of "Dub Communication" and the massive tour that goes with it! We find all that makes the strength of KANKA: rhythmic always pushed, tough basses, and cutting electro tones. Warning, the merciless hammering starts and will pass certainly near you … Warrior Style!
