Swiss roots and culture ambassadors

"We started in the early nineties to trod on the Reggae Roads: Jamaica, UK, New York and Afrika living in the Cultural Squat called "Le Goulet" (in the suburbs of Geneva) where many years of Roots and Dancehall sessions were held. After yeards of collecting Records, Boxes, Amps, Preamps and dubs, the swiss Roots Ambassadors were on the road...

From that time, we never stopped to carry on Jah Works musically. Another part of these works included the mission, as Ambassadors, to bring loads of UK sound systems and artists to the local people, enriching their musical and spiritual knowledge. In june 1998, there it was, our first session as CULTURAL WARRIORS SOUND SYSTEM.*

The first to come in Geneva was Markie Lyriks and the RDK Hi-Fi from Brixton and they played the first real sound system nights in 1994 with his own system, which was the first time ever such an event took place. Really, it influenced and motivated to build CULTURAL WARRIORS SOUND SYSTEM.

As in 2000 we opened the recording studio and started producing music, the booking of those vocalists went along with the production "plan". In 2001, the first releases came out. (Look in PRODUCTION SECTION for more infos…)

After years playing mainly in local squats (especially the Goulet!), we got our first residence @ L'USINE (Le Zoo 2001-03) and it reached larger and more various kinds of audiences, contributing that way to establish localy the sound system and label.
In that period, Cultural Warriors to get bookings to play abroad and has moved to FRANCE, ITALY, GERMANY, HOLLAND, BELGIUM and NORWAY.

Since 2003, CW took also residence at the HALLE W (WEETAMIX) and promote there the GENEVA DUB CLUB. (Go to Promotion Section for more infos) "

Murray Man starts his artistic career as selector of the sound system Virgo High Power in Birmingham in the middle of the 80s. While groping on an Atari St which he puts itself in the production, before producing his first piece in 1998, creating at the same time legendary label Mellow Vibes.

Elected representative better singer reggae of England in 2009, Murray Man is an artist full of energy who promises to make dance the Bikini up to the night end !

Junior Cony is the project dub of Jean-Mi also known to hold the machines of Béruriers Noirs. Accompanied with the singer Shanti-D, Junior Cony plays a mix ofnovo dub dub and roots.

The first album " Inna Roots Tradition " was released in 2003 on Pias well known by the electronic scene to distribute groups such Kaly Live Dub or Le Peuple de L'herbe. His dub is roots and digital, carried by basses deep and heavy melodies.
